Victory Tour 2013: An Online Convention

After discussing how we can best support our audience and include as many fellow fans as possible, the Gamemakers have decided to convert Victory Tour 2013 into a 2-day online convention. This change will give us the opportunity to explore the incredible discussions we had planned while keeping the cost affordable for everyone interested in attending. Registration for this online convention will be completely separate from any previous registration and the cost will be $10 per person to attend.

Over the next few weeks, the website will undergo some changes and we will begin to refund all registrations that have already been purchased. You will need to register again in order to attend the online convention. Closer to the event dates, you will be provided with instructions on how to attend the online convention and will be asked to pre-register for the events you wish to attend.

Sessions and panels will be very interactive and include video conferencing and question and answer sessions with special panelists, group discussions and lecture-style sessions. If you would like to lead a discussion, please apply to lead a session in our Programming section.

More information about registering for the online convention, leading a discussion, computer requirements, and special panelists will appear on our website in the upcoming weeks.

Thank you for your support.

2012 Deadline

Unfortunately, we did not reach the goal set for 2012 and therefore cannot move forward with the convention as planned. The Gamemakers are currently in discussions to see if there is an alternative plan or if we will need to cancel altogether. Once we reach this decision, we will announce it and begin refunding to those who registered.

Update

Dearest fans,

Over the past few weeks, we have been dealing with some legal issues involving the convention. This has encouraged us to expand the convention to include some other fan favorites. This gives us the opportunity to include all of the events we have already announced plus add a layer to the convention that didn’t previously exist through other much loved novels and films.

We are hoping these additions give attendees the opportunity to explore some new books and fandoms, as well as contrast and compare their favorites with other fans. We look forward to bringing this convention to life and can’t wait to see you there!

Please be aware that this change may affect the registration date. Stay tuned for updates and changes! For a peek at the books we’re considering, see our new “The Books” section under “Programming”.

Thanks for your continued support and excitement!

Dear Hunger Games Fan,

Beware, there is an underground movement beginning. A movement to encourage us to unite. This movement is called Victory Tour 2013.

Devised by an assortment of Gamemakers who are opposed to Capitol oppression and being segregated into different districts across the world, Victory Tour 2013 will bring us together as one, so that we can celebrate our unity, debate our viewpoints, and party like its…well 2013!

Victory Tour 2013 will be held in an undisclosed location in North Carolina, revealed only to Tributes who are the most passionate about the Hunger Games and what it stands for. It is an arena devised to encourage education and healthy discussion. You will meet the gamemakers and the fansites dedicated to keeping us out from under Capitol supremacy. You will laugh in the face of tyranny at the Hunger Games Musical, conquer your fears during The Tribute Games, and declare your stylistic freedom during the district fashion extravaganza.

To make this celebration even more spectacular, it is our goal to bring to you some of the most famous tributes from the 74th Hunger Games, but in order to do so, we need your help. Alas, our liberty must come at a price.

We implore you to participate in our Kickstarter event to bring these heroes into our midst, to learn from them and share in their experiences. The funds we earn will go directly to the cause of liberating them from Capitol bondage and bringing them with us to Victory Tour 2013 and to making your experience at Victory Tour 2013 the most memorable one imaginable.

Tributes we call to you. Careers we need you. Help us bring Victory Tour 2013 to life! Your donation can make a difference in the life of a subject of Panem.

If you want to be one of the first Tributes to find out when and where Victory Tour 2013 will take place you will need to register your email for alerts at the bottom of your screen. And check back here!

Be strongly forewarned, for this is a movement created for fans, by fans. No oppressive governmenting facilities are involved and we are not affiliated with factions like Lionsgate, Scholastic, or our dear, dear hero, Suzanne Collins.

We thank you for your devotion to the cause,

The Gamemakers
